"Running" is an original song by Malinda Kathleen Reese, and it serves as the fourth track of her debut EP, Love Letter.
Theme
Malinda describes in the song a guy who promises her love and a solid relationship. But something changed about him, or at least she is just realizing who he really is. All he wants is a simple, obedient girl. On her YouTube channel MALINDA, she stated that this song was written when one of her exes came back to her for advice about his new girlfriend. Malinda says she was in college when she wrote the song, but as she has matured, the song has become more "real" for her.
